These areas comprise the area from the Rio Grande on the East to Central Avenue on the south, to the Sandoval/Bernalillo County line on the North. This area is called the “New Albuquerque” because in the last decade or so land has become scarce on the eastside of the city. Many of the neighborhoods are newer and there are numerous new home builders still building in this area.
Cottonwood mall is the newest shopping mall in the area and is circled with many restaurants and businesses. Volcano Vista is one of the newest High Schools in the Albuquerque. Rust Presbyterian Medical Center is the newest Hospital in the city and is located on the West Side in Rio Rancho. Traffic in the morning flows to the East and South and the opposite in the evening. The Paseo del Norte project is nearing completion and will greatly improve commuting from the westside.
The big advantage of purchasing on the westside is homes are newer and are about 20% less than on the other side of the Rio Grande. The views of the Bosque and the Sandias are nice as well.
