One of the big appeals to living in this area is the weather. Residents can bask in the sun over 310 days a year. We are desert climate with less then 9 inches of rain a year. All four seasons are represented with summer reaching over 100 and winter dipping below freezing, but with a low relative humidity the weather never feels extreme.
The area is a true Southwestern area with roadrunners, yuccas, and starry nights. This influence is evident in the
architecture as well as the cuisine. Old Town is a fun representation of the areas earlier influences with the Felipe de Neri church being the anchor of the spanish plaza. Abq BioPark, museums, route 66 (with a lot of the original neons) and 1000's of galleries shops and restaurants are also a part of what makes this area special.
If outdoor activities are more your thing there are miles of bike and hiking trails, both on and off road. The Sandia mtns and the Bosque Trail system are the two major areas for hiking and biking. You can also try hot-air ballooning, we host one the the largest international balloon exhibitions in the world (Balloon Fiesta).
The Albuquerque Area includes the cities of Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Corrales, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Belen, Tijeres, Sandia Crest, Placitas, and other cities. Each city is unique and worth exploring.
